Lithography by Richenda Cunningham, circa 1830

Surveyors in Ancien Régime dress are taking measurements of the building.

After his visit in 1660, Louis XIV ordered an inspection of the monument 'to verify the condition of this house and give an opinion on the way of conserving it' (Deyron, 1663).

The monument still belonged to the descendants of Bois and was let to tenants.
