An inscription was affixed in the position of the frieze and on the architrave of the northern facade. The bronze letters disappeared for reasons unknown. The text dedicated the temple to the grandsons and prince heirs of the Emperor Augustus, Gaius and Lucius Caesar, who died early in 2 and 4 AD.
